About Classic Studio Portraits
For these sessions, I focus on the small details, like a natural smile, a pensive look, or the way your child holds their hands. I do not rely on heavy props. Instead, I use controlled studio lighting and simple, solid-colored backdrops to make sure your child is the only star of the frame. It is about creating a portrait that looks as timeless today as it will years from now.
Why Less Is More
My approach to classic portraiture is simple: remove the distraction. When you strip away busy backgrounds and elaborate themes, you are left with the child. Whether it is a six-year-old in a denim jumpsuit or a toddler in an elegant gown, the goal is to capture who they are right now, not just what they are wearing.
The Studio Experience
Shooting at my Panchsheel Greens 2 studio allows us to control the light perfectly. We use both light, airy tones for a soft, angelic feel and darker, moody backgrounds for a more dramatic, painterly aesthetic. The focus is always on:
- Expressions: Capturing the authentic sass, sweetness, or curiosity your child shows.
- Posing: Keeping it natural. I do not force stiff poses. I let them move, sit, and play so the results feel like them.
- Detail: I pay attention to the small things, like hand placement or a genuine glance, which make a portrait feel human rather than staged.
