Dubai & Arabic Henna Designs
I love the bold, elegant flow of Dubai and Arabic henna styles. Whether it is for your engagement or a festive occasion, I create patterns that balance negative space with intricate floral details for a striking, modern look.
A classic example of a Dubai style henna design. It features bold geometric shapes, intricate fills, and leafy patterns that create a very modern and stylish look.
A beautiful Arabic style floral design. The way the pattern flows diagonally across the hands is a hallmark of this style, creating an elegant and uncluttered look.
Another look at a beautiful Arabic floral design. The contrast between the dark, bold outlines and the delicate shading inside the flowers makes the design really stand out.
A unique, modern design that uses 3D techniques to make the flowers appear raised from the skin. This video shows the process of creating this shaded, sculptural effect.
About Bold & Beautiful: Dubai & Arabic Henna
Many people rush these designs, but I believe the beauty of Dubai and Arabic henna lies in the precision of the lines. Since there is more negative space than in traditional heavy bridal styles, every single stroke is visible. I take my time to map out the floral motifs so they sit perfectly on your skin, ensuring you get that clean, jewelry-like effect rather than a rushed smudge.
Why do so many of my clients choose Dubai and Arabic styles for their engagements or festive events? It is all about the balance. Unlike traditional Indian bridal mehndi, which covers the entire hand in dense mesh work, the Dubai style uses bold, sweeping lines and negative space. This makes the henna look like an elegant piece of jewelry on your skin.
My Approach to Your Design
When I work on your hands, I don't just fill in the space. I look at the shape of your palm and the flow of your fingers. My process involves:
- Mapping the Motif: I plan the bold floral or paisley centers first to anchor the design.
- Negative Space Control: I keep large areas of skin clean to let the henna patterns 'breathe,' which is the hallmark of the Dubai look.
- The Finish: This is my signature. I use a 0.3mm pin cone to ensure the lines are crisp and uniform.
Quality You Can See
I get asked often about color. Because I use my own home-blended organic henna paste, you get a deep, rich stain that lasts. I do not use any chemical-laden cones, ever. Even for simple guest henna, I use the same quality paste.
If you are worried about sitting for hours, do not be. Dubai and Arabic styles are generally faster to apply than full-coverage bridal mehndi, but I still refuse to sacrifice finishing for speed. I would rather take an extra 15 minutes to perfect a curve than have you walk away with a design that looks 'okay'. In sha Allah, we will create something that you will love looking at for days.
