Behind the Scenes: Building Your Criminal Defense
A strong defense is not born in the courtroom. It is forged through hours of research, drafting, and case analysis. Here is the work behind my legal strategy.
Success in a criminal case starts with being serious about your preparation. Here is a copy of The Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), a book that is essential for every criminal lawyer's research.
Hard work is non-negotiable in this profession. This is a typical scene from my desk, surrounded by legal documents, case files, and my laptop, preparing for the next day in court.
In the court library at Rohini with a fellow advocate. Libraries are invaluable resources where I spend hours conducting legal research to find precedents that can strengthen a client's case.
A candid moment of me drafting a legal document. Every word in a pleading or application is chosen carefully to build a compelling argument for the court.
About Behind the Scenes: Building Your Defense
Every application for bail or FIR registration I file is preceded by hours spent cross-referencing the FIR against specific sections of the CrPC and BNSS. I do not rely on standard templates. Instead, I hunt for discrepancies in the police report, such as contradictions in the remand application or gaps in the investigation, which are often the deciding factors for getting relief in district courts.
Success in a criminal case is rarely about a single brilliant argument in court. It is the result of the preparation that happens long before the hearing. When you are facing a criminal charge, the stress is high, and the legal system can feel overwhelming. My process is designed to remove that uncertainty by building a defense that is fact-based and legally sound.
The Research Phase
Legal research is the foundation of my practice. Whether I am at the Rohini District Court library or working from my desk, I spend a significant amount of time studying case law and current statutes. This allows me to identify precedents that apply directly to your situation. If the police have messed up their procedure, I find it. If there is a legal ground for bail that hasn't been highlighted, I bring it to the forefront.
Drafting Your Defense
Drafting is where the strategy comes to life. I personally handle the drafting of bail applications under Section 437 and 439 CrPC, as well as petitions under Section 156(3) when the police fail to act. Every word in these documents is chosen to present your side of the story clearly to the Metropolitan Magistrate. This is not about copy-pasting forms. It is about crafting a narrative that protects your rights.
Why This Approach Matters
I am a first-generation lawyer, so I understand the value of hard work. I do not have a legacy to lean on, so I rely on the strength of my arguments and the thoroughness of my preparation. This work ethic is what I bring to every client. Whether I am appearing at Tis Hazari, Karkardooma, or Rouse Avenue, my goal is the same: to use the law to get you the relief you need. You deserve a lawyer who treats your case with the same seriousness that you do.
