About Riverside Stories: Boats & Birds
If you are planning a boat shoot at the Yamuna, we usually need to start before sunrise to catch the best light and the birds. It is an early start, but the quiet, golden hour atmosphere you get on the water is worth every bit of the early wake-up call.
When we plan these riverside sessions, the goal isn't just a perfect photo. It is about capturing a moment where you two actually feel like you are away from the city noise, even if we are right in the middle of Delhi.
Why the water works
Boats offer a unique, contained space. You cannot run off, and you are not looking for a crowd. It forces a certain intimacy. When you are sitting in a boat, you naturally lean in, hold hands, or just laugh at the swaying motion. That is where the candid magic happens. I focus on the connection, not the pose.
The Logistics
- Timing: We aim for sunrise. The light is soft, and the birds are most active.
- Outfits: Since we are on a boat, lighter, flowy fabrics often look better than heavy, structured outfits.
- The 'Bhaiya' Approach: Do not worry about being awkward. I will be on the boat with you, cracking jokes and keeping the vibe light. If you feel like you are just hanging out with a friend, the photos will show that comfort.
Mani Sharma
I am Mani. I have shot hundreds of weddings, but these quiet morning boat sessions are some of my personal favorites. I will be the guy behind the camera making you laugh, dodging the birds, and making sure you feel like yourselves, not like you are posing for a magazine.
