When I am prepping talent for shoots or red carpets, my focus is not just on the initial application but on how the look holds up after hours under studio lights. I use specific lymphatic drainage and precision layering techniques with setting sprays to ensure your base remains breathable and 'snatched' without ever looking cakey, even when you are under harsh flash photography.
Designed for the Lens
The biggest difference between daily makeup and performance makeup is how it behaves under lights. I prep skin to be 4K-ready, meaning it looks completely natural to the naked eye but has the resilience to withstand hours under hot spotlights or flash photography.
My Approach to Performance Glam
- HD Skin Prep: I use a 20-minute depuffing and hydration routine to ensure the base is smooth and glass-like before any product touches your skin.
- Resilience Engineering: For red carpet events or music video shoots, I use advanced layering techniques with pro-grade products from brands like NARS, Dior, and Charlotte Tilbury to keep your look set for over 6 hours.
- Performance-Proof Style: Whether it is a bold graphic liner for an editorial look or a soft-glam interview aesthetic, I build the look to be impactful but authentic. I do not believe in hiding features, just defining them to work with the camera.
- Hygiene Standards: My kit follows a strict no-double-dip policy with disposable applicators, which is vital for maintaining professional hygiene on busy, fast-paced sets.
