1. Booking Too Late

I cannot stress this enough, but peak season in Mumbai fills up fast. If you wait until the last minute, you might miss out on your preferred artist. Booking 3 to 4 months in advance ensures you get the style you want without the stress.

2. Choosing the Wrong Henna

Some artists use chemicals to get that 'instant' black stain. It might look dark at first, but it can cause skin reactions and fades unevenly. I exclusively use my own 100% organic, chemical-free henna paste. It takes a little more time to develop, but the result is a deep, natural maroon that lasts for days.

3. Ignoring the Aftercare

This is where the magic happens. My aftercare secret is simple: no water for at least 12 hours after the paste is scraped off. I also recommend a clove steam session to deepen the color. If you start washing your hands or cleaning up immediately, you are literally washing away your stain.
