Practical Self-Defense Techniques
Real-world safety is not about sports or fancy moves. It is about spotting threats early and acting decisively when you have to. Here is how I teach people to protect themselves on the street.
This video demonstrates a 360-degree defense against a choke from behind. The technique involves turning into the attacker to break their hold and immediately countering to create an opportunity to escape.
Here, I am teaching a basic block and redirect technique. The goal in Krav Maga is to end a confrontation as quickly as possible by deflecting an attack and creating an opening for a counter-move.
An instructor must provide clear, step-by-step guidance. In this outdoor training session, I am breaking down the initial phase of a defensive technique for students.
Your best weapon is often what you have in your hand. This clip shows how to use a common object like a mobile phone to strike an attacker's vulnerable points, such as the throat or eyes, to defend yourself.
About Practical Self-Defense Techniques
The biggest mistake people make is freezing when a confrontation starts. In my sessions, we skip the sports-style sparring and focus on rapid-response drills—like using your phone or keys to neutralize an attack. You don't need a black belt to stay safe; you just need to break the mental block that stops you from acting.
Krav Maga: A Combat System, Not a Sport
Many people confuse self-defense with martial arts. They are not the same. Martial arts often rely on rules, refs, and fair conditions. On the street or in a crisis, yahan pe koi rules nahi hain (there are no rules here). My training is designed for the reality of violence, where your goal is not to win a trophy but to go home safe.
Why Mindset Matters More Than Muscles
If you believe you are worth protecting, you move differently. A lot of people freeze under pressure because they have never simulated a high-stress environment. My workshops focus on:
- Situational Awareness: Learning to spot potential danger in a parking lot, a cab, or an office corridor before it escalates.
- Breaking the Freeze: Using stress drills that force you to make decisions while your heart rate is up.
- Practical Defense: We use open palm strikes, hammer fists, and tactical kicks—moves that protect your own hands and hit vulnerable points efficiently.
Training for the Modern World
We train for real scenarios, not theory. Whether it is defending against a choke from behind or using common items like a pen or a laptop bag to block an overhead strike, the focus is on utilizing what you already have.
I run these workshops across Delhi NCR, bringing the setup directly to your office or hosting your team at my CR Park facility. No prior fitness level is required; we start with the basics of mindset and build from there. If you are ready to stop leaving your safety to chance, let's get to work.
