I treat makeup as a science. Whether I am crafting a mythological deity or a hyper-realistic injury, I rely on anatomy, high-grade materials, and precise techniques to bring every character to life.

This is a full-body prosthetic and makeup transformation into the powerful Prathyangira Devi. Creating mythological characters requires a deep understanding of anatomy, sculpture, and storytelling to bring divinity to life.

A look into horror prosthetics, creating a terrifying creature complete with a custom-made severed hand prop. This level of SFX makeup is perfect for film projects or Halloween events that demand shocking realism.

Watch the step-by-step process of creating a severe third-degree burn effect on a leg. I use professional-grade materials and layering techniques to simulate damaged tissue for believable injury makeup.

This video shows the application of a complex, custom-sculpted alien prosthetic. From placing the piece to blending the edges and adding color, every step is crucial for a seamless character transformation.

Here is a look at how I create a realistic, flexible prosthetic face from scratch. This process is the foundation of high-level SFX work, allowing for complete character changes in the film industry.

Hearing from my students is the greatest reward. In this video, a student shares her experience from my 15-day makeup course, explaining how she gained the knowledge and confidence to work independently.

A fast-paced look at the variety of SFX makeup I teach and create. This montage features everything from ghostly apparitions and deep cuts to fantasy characters, showing the diverse skills you can learn.

About this collection

When I create a third-degree burn or a custom prosthetic, I am not just applying makeup. I am thinking about how the light hits the texture, how the skin moves, and exactly which medical-grade adhesive will hold without damaging the pores. SFX is about engineering an illusion, and if the muscle structure and color layering are not anatomically correct, the entire effect fails. This is why every look in my lab starts with a deep understanding of the materials.

Beyond the Surface: The Science of SFX

Many think SFX makeup is just about adding fake blood or a piece of latex. In my lab, it is about chemistry and physics. Whether we are working on a 4K film set or preparing a look for a stage event, the durability and realism of the makeup depend on the technique. I use professional-grade materials like Pros-Aide adhesives, alcohol-activated palettes, and Derma Wax to ensure that every scar, wound, or creature feature looks authentic under studio lights.

Why Technique Matters

  • Skin Theory: Before applying a single drop of product, I analyze the skin. You cannot build a prosthetic on compromised skin. I teach my students to prioritize health, ensuring no harsh chemicals are used.
  • Texture & Layering: Realism is about depth. A bullet wound or a deep cut isn't one solid color; it is a complex layering of bruising, irritation, and varying fluid consistencies like scab blood versus fresh flow.
  • Prosthetic Casting: My process involves precise molding—from face casting to edge-blending—so that the prosthetic moves naturally with the actor's expressions. This is the difference between a costume mask and a professional character look.

Training the Next Generation

I don't believe in hoarding knowledge. If you are an artist in Bangalore wanting to transition into film or theatrical makeup, my masterclasses are designed to be hands-on. You will not just watch me; you will handle the wax, make the molds, and learn how to manage a professional SFX kit. We cover everything from the 'anatomy of a wound' to the business side of finding work in the industry. If you want to build a real career in special effects, you need to learn how to solve problems, not just copy a tutorial.
