The Design Process: From Idea to Oasis
Every beautiful balcony starts with a simple sketch. Here is how I collaborate with you to turn your ideas into a real, cozy, and green space, whether we are working in person or remotely.
My design process always starts with a conversation and a sketch. Here you can see how a rough concept for hexagonal pinewood shelves and planters evolved into the final, beautiful wall decor for a client's balcony.
This is what I love to do, turning a simple hand-drawn sketch into a lush, cozy reality. Seeing an idea on paper transform into a beautiful green wall with boho decor like this macrame dreamcatcher is the magic of my work.
When a client has a specific reference image in mind, I see it as a wonderful challenge. This video shows the making process of the wooden lattice and how we brought their inspiration photo to life, creating a stunning vertical garden wall.
Every great balcony starts with an idea. These are some of my initial hand-drawn sketches where I map out the placement of furniture, planters, and decor to create a balanced and beautiful layout for my clients.
About The Design Process: From Idea to Oasis
My design process is a conversation, not just a blueprint. We start with a hand-drawn sketch to map out your furniture, lighting, and plant placement, allowing us to visualize the final outcome together before a single piece of wood is cut. This collaborative sketching phase ensures your specific balcony layout and light conditions are handled perfectly.
I believe that a balcony makeover should be a stress-free experience that leaves you with a 'sukoon' (peace) spot. My process is designed to be accessible whether you are here in Bangalore or across the country.
How We Create Your Oasis
For most projects, we begin with a 45-minute video consultation to analyze your space, sunlight, and requirements. I then create a hand-drawn layout sketch that acts as a visual guide. This is not a complex CAD drawing that feels cold and distant; it is a conceptual plan that shows exactly where your pinewood shelves, artificial grass, or hanging lights will go.
The Two Ways We Work
Depending on your needs, I offer two specific pathways:
- Non-Structural Decor Plan: Best for cosmetic updates. You receive a mood board, a complete shopping list with direct purchase links, and a placement guide. This is perfect if you want to DIY the execution without needing heavy carpentry.
- Custom Carpentry Blueprint: If you want custom seating or wall paneling, I provide dimensioned technical drawings. You can hand these to your local carpenter to get the exact look. This package also includes 7 days of remote support, where I answer your carpenter's queries to ensure the build goes smoothly.
Why Start with a Sketch?
Before I ever suggest a specific plant or furniture piece, I need to understand your vibe. Is it boho? Minimalist? A Zen garden? By mapping it out on paper first, we avoid costly mistakes and ensure that even a small balcony feels spacious and functional. My goal is to give you a clear roadmap so you can confidently build your own dream corner. Dhanyavaad for trusting me with your space.
