About Handmade Lotus Coasters (Kamal Aasan)

These aren't flat doilies. Each piece is constructed with 4-ply acrylic yarn using a specific tension technique to ensure the petals stand upright and maintain their 3D shape, even after washing. Whether you are using them as a steady base for a Ganpati idol or daily tea coasters, they are designed to hold their form without flopping over.

Crafted for Your Mandir

I design these lotus coasters (Kamal Aasan) with a specific focus on structural integrity. Unlike thinner crochet work, these utilize a reinforced stitch pattern that allows the petals to curve upwards, creating a secure cradle for small idols, diyas, or tea lights. They are not just for display; they are functional pieces meant to be used.

Durability and Care

I use 100% 4-ply acrylic yarn for every piece. This material is chosen because it resists fading and holds its color even after multiple washes. If your coaster gathers dust or catches a stain, simply hand wash it with mild detergent, lay it flat to dry, and it will be as good as new. These are built to last through many festive seasons, not just one.

Customization for Your Space

While pink and yellow are classic, I can customize the color layers for you. If you need a specific dual-tone combination to match your interior decor or a specific set of colors for a temple theme, let me know.

Perfect for Gifting

These have become a favorite for return gifts during weddings and festivals like Ganpati. Because they are reusable and serve a practical purpose, they are a thoughtful alternative to traditional gifts. For bulk requirements—whether you need 10 or 100—please reach out early so I can manage the stitching time and ensure every piece meets the quality I expect from my work.

I’m Suchita, and I started this as a hobby before it grew into my full-time passion. My work is a blend of art and devotion—'जेव्हा कलेला मिळते भक्तीची जोड.' When I’m making these lotus coasters, I’m thinking about where they’ll end up, whether it’s a family mandir or a thoughtful return gift for a festival.
