Behind the Scenes: The Making of My Crochet Art
Every piece of yarn I pick up eventually becomes a part of someone's home or celebration. Get a look at the process behind the stitches here.
New projects often start with small, colourful components like these crochet flowers. I love experimenting with different shades to see how they will come together in a final piece.
The wedding season is a busy time for me too! This is a glimpse of a custom order I worked on, including a crochet toran and other items for a 'rukhvat' ceremony. I feel blessed when my art becomes a part of your special celebrations.
Here is a work-in-progress shot of the checkerboard pattern. Seeing the design come together stitch by stitch is a part of the process I truly enjoy. This is how each handmade piece begins.
About Behind the Scenes: The Making Of
Every piece I create begins as a simple spool of yarn, and I manage the entire process myself. Whether I am crafting a checkerboard clutch or a festive toran for a ceremony, the work is slow and steady. Please keep in mind that I do not work with automated machinery, as every stitch is handmade, which means custom orders take time to complete. If you have a deadline for an upcoming event, reach out early so I can dedicate the right amount of focus to your piece.
It is not just about the finished product, it is about the hours spent making it. When I work on a project, I think about where it is going, whether it is a gift for a wedding, a piece of home decor, or a personalized accessory.
My process is transparent. You will see me working with everything from sturdy 4-ply yarns for door hangings to softer cotton blends for pouches. For items like my diamond pattern clutches, I focus on tight stitching to ensure the bag keeps its shape. For delicate torans and festival decor, I make sure the crochet is durable enough to be washed and reused for years.
'जेव्हा कलेला मिळते भक्तीची जोड' (When art gets a touch of devotion)—this is the philosophy behind Knits and Knots by Suchita. Whether I am making 100 lotus coasters for a Ganpati celebration or a single custom pouch, the attention to detail remains the same. If you are looking for something unique, tell me your colour preference or design idea, and we can work together to make it happen. Since I handle all production personally, I appreciate your patience in letting me create quality work for you.
