Smart Storage & Functionality for Indian Kitchens
In a city like Mumbai, your kitchen storage has to work as hard as you do. I design layouts that hide the clutter but keep your daily essentials right where you need them.
This video shows a combination of smart storage solutions, including a roller shutter for an appliance garage and pull-out wicker baskets, perfect for storing vegetables.
Need more counter space? This video demonstrates an innovative pull-out extension from the kitchen island, perfect for small kitchens or when you need extra room for prep.
Our drawer systems are designed for modern living. This image shows a sleek, handleless drawer with a wood finish, part of a larger modular storage unit.
A shallow pull-out tray is perfect for organizing smaller items or serving accessories, ensuring nothing gets lost in the back of the cabinet.
We use high-quality soft-close mechanisms on all our drawers, providing a smooth and silent user experience.
A tall pull-out pantry unit is one of the most efficient ways to store groceries. It allows you to see everything at a glance and access items easily.
Custom wooden drawer organizers keep your cutlery and utensils neatly arranged. We design these to fit your specific needs.
Our corner solutions, like this swing-out unit, make sure no space is wasted. It brings the contents of a deep corner cabinet right out to you.
This kitchen island includes a clever pull-out table, providing a flexible dining or work surface that can be tucked away when not in use.
Our island drawers are designed for maximum utility, with custom dividers to keep everything from cutlery to cooking tools perfectly organized.
About Smart Storage & Functionality
When I design for you, we aren't just picking colors. We look at the weight of your heavy kadhais and where the masala dabba sits during your morning rush. I use German hardware like Blum and Hettich to ensure drawers hold your heavy cookware without sagging, because your kitchen shouldn't just look organized, it should actually be easy to use.
Designing for Reality
Most modular kitchens look great in a showroom but struggle once you actually start cooking. In an Indian home, the kitchen is high-traffic. You have wet zones, baking corners, and spice racks that need to be within reach. I do not believe in copy-paste designs. I start by asking how you cook. Do you need deep drawers for heavy pots? A pull-out for your idli steamer? A corner unit that actually rotates fully? We plan based on your movement.
Hardware That Survives
I rely on premium German hardware from Hafele and Blum because I know our daily usage is intense. If you are opening a drawer 30 times a day to reach for spoons or spices, it needs to be smooth and silent. I use soft-close hinges that don't bang, and tandem boxes that can handle weight without bending. This is the difference between a kitchen that lasts two years and one that stays solid for a decade.
Making Every Inch Count
In Bombay, space is the biggest constraint. My storage solutions are about reclaiming those 'dead' areas.
- Corner Units: We install swing-out or magic corner units so you never lose a pot to the back of a cabinet again.
- Vertical Storage: Tall pantry units allow you to store bulk groceries without taking up counter space.
- Appliance Garages: If you want a clear countertop, we design cabinets with roll-top shutters to hide your mixer, toaster, and blender while keeping them connected to a power point.
Ultimately, your kitchen should be an extension of your routine, not a puzzle you have to solve every time you cook.
Kitchen Studio
I am Sandeep Ailsinghani, and I built Kitchen Studio because I believe a kitchen needs to handle actual cooking, not just look like a showroom. I spend my time figuring out how to fit your lifestyle into your available space so you can focus on the cooking rather than the mess.
