Hand-Painted Jewellery Inspired by Nature & Folklore
Every piece here is a story painted on wood. From the bond of a mother and child to the serenity of a lotus, my jewellery brings folklore and nature to your everyday style.
A different view of the 'Mamta' necklace set, celebrating the unbreakable bond between a mother and child. The hand-painted details are paired with earthy beads and delicate shells.
This image showcases a variety of my narrative necklaces. You can see a Pichwai-style cow, a beautiful woman adorned with a lotus, a blooming lotus, and a mandala design, each telling its own unique story.
About Stories of Life & Nature
When I paint these pieces, I don't just use colours, I use materials that last. Each pendant is made on high-grade MDF and finished with a lacquer polish so they are splash-proof and durable for daily wear. You will find they are lightweight despite looking like statement pieces, mostly because I use wooden bases instead of heavy metal to ensure they stay comfortable throughout your day.
My process is a slow one, and that is intentional. Before a piece becomes part of this collection, it starts as a simple pencil sketch on wood. I layer acrylic colours to capture the depth of the subject, whether it is the calm expression on a woman's face or the intricate petals of a lotus flower.
Why these materials?
I choose MDF for the bases because it provides a smooth, reliable canvas for detailed line work. After the painting is complete, I apply a protective lacquer polish. This adds a subtle sheen but, more importantly, creates a moisture-resistant barrier so you don't have to worry about a little rain or humidity. For the strings, I use a braided cotton dori with an adjustable back, allowing you to choose how high or low the pendant sits. The accents—ranging from earthy Rudraksha beads to brass ghungroos and simple shells—are added to give the piece a rhythmic sound and a tactile, traditional feel.
Styling your jewellery
These pieces are meant to be conversational. A 'Mamta' set, featuring mother-and-child motifs, pairs beautifully with cotton sarees or simple kurtas, letting the art stand out against solid colours. If you are looking for something for a casual outing, my floral-themed earrings are lightweight enough for all-day wear. Each set I craft is unique because, even when I paint the same motif, the brush strokes and the fine details shift slightly, ensuring that what you wear is truly yours.
