Sculpted Gowns and Pre-Draped Saris
Where traditional silhouettes meet architectural precision. I design gowns and saris that hold form, using sculpted corsetry and effortless, pre-stitched drapes to redefine your formal look.
The Nexus gown reimagines the sari with a pre-stitched drape that slips on with ease, anchored by a sculpted corset belt. Here, asymmetry finds balance, and every line recalls the bonds we stitch and the ones we let loosen.
This is Zikaron, a corseted silhouette where knotted threads and cording embroidery trace the bodice and flow into a fish-cut skirt. I added a subtle peplum to soften its structure, an ode to bonds stitched into form.
A view of the Zikaron gown from the back, showcasing the clean lines of the corseted form and the elegant flare of the fish-cut skirt, highlighted with handcrafted paisley embroidery.
Tradition, retold through structure. This ivory gown features a sculpted hood and defined layers, sharpening heritage with modern tailoring while holding onto its roots.
A dramatic architectural hood in red mesh defines this gown. I use such elements to reinterpret familiar forms, giving tradition a shape that feels distinctly now.
This blue gown showcases a dramatic, structured hood against a clear sky, emphasizing how I use architectural forms to create a contemporary language for Indian couture.
An ivory gown that celebrates contrast. The fit-and-flare silhouette is sculpted with a corseted bodice and finished with a dramatic hooded panel, creating a look that is elegant, intentional, and unforgettable.
Power and poise converge in this crimson red slit gown. The structured hood adds a touch of unapologetic glamour, designed for nights filled with drama and detail.
Another look at the crimson slit gown, where the structured hood and flowing train create a silhouette of pure confidence.
A vision in crimson. This video shows the dramatic structured hood and sculpted form of the couture gown, a look that doesn't just make a statement but leaves a lasting aura of elegance.
About Sculpted Gowns & Pre-Draped Saris
Before you choose a style, keep in mind that my fish-cut gowns require precise measurements and at least one toile fitting to lock in that silhouette. The internal corsetry is built to hold you, so you can generally skip the extra layers underneath. If you are opting for a pre-draped sari, you gain the drama of the six-yard look without any of the pinning or pleating anxiety.
The architecture of my gowns starts with the internal engineering. Every piece utilizes 8 to 14 panels of boning, which provides the foundation for the structured look you see in the gallery. For the fish-cut and trumpet silhouettes, I incorporate horsehair braid at the hem to maintain volume without the weight of traditional can-can.
When it comes to my pre-draped saris, the goal is simple. I want to remove the uncertainty of pleats and pinning. The drape is sewn to move with you, anchored by a bustier or corset that sits perfectly, regardless of how you move. We use fabrics like Italian Crepe, Scuba, and Neoprene, which hold these shapes better than lighter silks.
Most of these designs are crafted for cocktail events, receptions, or red-carpet appearances. If you are coming to the Defence Colony studio, we will focus on your specific frame. Because we work with rigid fabrics and structural elements, we prioritize fittings to ensure the garment moves like a second skin. Expect a production timeline of about four to six weeks from your first consultation.
