About this collection
The secret to a great dining area is the rhythm of the space. Whether we are crafting a custom bar for pre-dinner drinks or calibrating the chandelier height so light hits the plate without glare, our focus is on the physics of hosting. We treat these rooms as functional sculptures, balancing hand-built woodcraft with art placement to ensure your guests never want to leave.
A dining room should be a room of memories, not just a place to eat. When we design these areas, we look at how the room breathes. It is not enough to place a table in the center; we consider the flow from the living room, the view from the entrance, and the interplay of materials.
We often integrate custom furniture from our Koko studio, such as the Tango Bar—a brass and steel piece that acts as a focal point for conversation—or the Hybrid Table, which uses unique joinery to anchor a room. In apartments like those in the Caitriona or at the K Residence, we use materials like Italian marble, solid teak, and onyx to build a sense of permanence.
Lighting is the next layer. We do not rely on standard fixtures. We prefer sculptural installations that hang low, creating an intimate pool of light. We also focus on wall treatments, using stone cladding or fabric padding to absorb sound, ensuring that even a loud dinner party feels comfortable. Whether you have a small dining nook or a grand hall for large gatherings, the goal is to make the room feel personal. We look for ways to incorporate your art collection, your family heirlooms, or specific textures that you love. It is about balancing the architectural shell with the objects that make it yours.
