Blending traditional Pahadi architecture with modern, functional design for state-level institutional projects.

A proud moment for me and my team at the inauguration of Uttarakhand Niwas, sharing the stage with the Honourable CM of Uttarakhand, Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami Ji. It was an honor to bring the vision for this magnificent building to life.

The conference room at Uttarakhand Niwas, designed for important discussions. The clean lines, hardwood floors, and state-of-the-art acoustics create a professional and impressive environment.

This is the beautiful feeling I work for. Standing in the completed lobby of Uttarakhand Niwas in New Delhi, a project I poured my heart into. We designed this space to be a grand welcome that reflects the rich Pahari culture and art.

Here I am with a beautiful mural depicting the essence of Uttarakhand's spiritual heritage. Incorporating local art like this is how I ensure a space tells a story and connects with its roots.

This art corner at Uttarakhand Niwas showcases the vibrant spirit of Dehradun. We used newspaper-print wallpaper as a backdrop for colorful local art, creating a modern tribute to the city's culture.

About this collection

Working on government spaces like Uttarakhand Niwas requires more than just aesthetics. It is about creating a formal, functional environment that also feels like a home away from home. I balance the need for high-end acoustics and lighting for meetings with the warmth of Pahadi art and heritage. Every chair, every light fixture, and every mural was chosen to tell our state's story while maintaining the decorum of an official residence.

Design for institutions or large state buildings is a different game altogether. You are not just designing for a client. You are designing for a legacy. When I took on the Uttarakhand Niwas project in New Delhi, the goal was clear. We had to respect the traditional Pahadi style while ensuring the building could host high-level administrative meetings comfortably.

The Technical Approach

State guest houses need to handle high footfall and provide seamless usability. In the conference rooms, we installed advanced acoustic paneling and even, glare-free lighting to ensure productivity during long sessions. We used toughened glass partitions for cabins, providing privacy without closing off the space.

Infusing Culture

Modern government buildings can often feel sterile. I wanted to change that by grounding every corner in our roots. We used Aipan-inspired motifs, custom murals of our sacred peaks, and heritage woodwork. The lobby features custom floor inlays that immediately ground visitors in the culture of Uttarakhand.

Why This Matters

Whether it is a government office, a guest house, or a commercial headquarters, the design must guide the user. It should be easy to navigate, comfortable for visitors, and inspiring for those who work there daily. If you are looking for design that respects your institutional needs while embracing local art and heritage, let's talk about how we can build your vision together.
