This reception area was designed to be warm and welcoming, using natural wood tones for the desk and ceiling, complemented by soft, comfortable seating. The large abstract artwork adds a point of interest, making a professional and lasting first impression.

For a touch of luxury, I designed this lobby with a dramatic, book-matched marble feature wall flanked by vertical lighting. The dark wood paneling and polished floors create a sleek and impressive entrance for a corporate building.

This lounge area incorporates biophilic design principles, using numerous indoor plants to create a calm and refreshing atmosphere. The minimalist furniture and natural materials make it a perfect waiting space or breakout zone.

A practical and modern waiting room design featuring a multi-level false ceiling with recessed lighting. The layout provides ample seating, and the inclusion of potted plants adds a touch of nature to the commercial space.

About Welcoming Reception & Lounge Areas

When designing a reception, I prioritize materials that handle high foot traffic without losing their look. I typically use 2mm commercial vinyl flooring or heavy-duty carpet tiles, paired with layered lighting—recessed panels for general brightness and profile strips to highlight your logo wall—so the space feels professional rather than clinical.

A reception desk should be designed to greet, not just to seat. This modern reception features a textured concrete-finish desk, vertical slat wall, and integrated planters, creating a sophisticated and welcoming entry point.
We used a unique Livid Krakato laminate from Merino to create this custom reception desk. The wavy, illuminated design element adds a creative and dynamic touch, showcasing how we use innovative materials to make a statement.
