Designing a dual-desk setup is about balancing individual workspace with a clean, unified look that fits your specific room layout.
I designed this clean and symmetrical dual-desk workstation for a modern home office. The chevron-patterned wood cabinetry overhead provides ample storage, while the integrated LED lighting ensures a well-lit work surface for two.
This two-person workstation features a long desk with individual drawers and comfortable leather-style chairs. The open shelving and closed cabinets above are illuminated by warm LED strip lighting, creating a functional and stylish shared office.

About Shared Home Workstations
When setting up a desk for two, cable management is often the first detail that gets overlooked. We plan for concealed wire managers and strategically placed grommet holes because nothing disrupts a clean aesthetic faster than a tangle of cords across the floor.
Shared workspaces require more than just pushing two tables together. You need distinct zones that allow both of you to work without bumping elbows or fighting for power outlets.
In our designs, we use 19mm BWR plywood for all workstations. This keeps the desktop stable, which is critical when you have dual monitors or heavy hardware on a floating desk. For shared areas, lighting is a major differentiator. Rather than relying on a single overhead light, we integrate warm profile LED strips under the cabinetry. This gives each of you a dedicated light source that does not glare on your screens or disturb the other person.
Layout is also key. Whether you need a side-by-side setup to share a wall or an L-shaped configuration to tuck into a corner, we prioritize legroom and ergonomics. We often include custom under-desk pedestals or wall-mounted cabinets with soft-close hinges to keep shared stationery and files organized.
For Bangalore apartments where space is at a premium, we focus on vertical storage. Using wall-mounted units above the desk keeps your floor clear, making the room feel larger.
