Advanced NICU Care for Newborns
A calm, protected space where your baby is watched over 24/7. We combine advanced neonatal technology with a gentle, womb-like environment to support your little one's earliest days.
This is the heart of our NICU, an incubator that recreates the warmth and safety of the womb. We use this advanced technology to provide gentle ventilation, specialized nutrition, and constant monitoring, ensuring your baby receives the precise support they need for healthy development.
We measure our success in the healthy growth of the babies we care for. This image celebrates the journey of two micro-preemies who grew from under 1kg to healthy weights of 3.5kg and 4kg in our NICU. These stories of hope are what drive our team every day.
This moment shows our expert nurses providing meticulous care to a premature baby. Prematurity is not the end, but the start of a journey of resilience. We are here to nurture that journey with care like no other.
A close-up of a parent's hand gently holding their premature baby's tiny fingers in the NICU. Every touch is a connection, and we guide parents on how to safely interact with their baby, fostering a bond that is crucial for healing and development.
This image captures the incredible strength of a newborn who arrived smaller than expected. In our hands, these tiny fighters receive the dedicated, round-the-clock care needed to grow stronger than anyone believed possible.
On World Prematurity Day, we honour the resilience and determination of every tiny human who begins their life's journey in the NICU. We stand with their families, providing medical advancements and compassionate care to give every premature baby the chance at a healthy future.
We help parents understand what to expect with a NICU stay. This myth-versus-fact graphic clarifies that the duration of a NICU stay varies for each baby. Some preemies may need longer care, while others stay for just a few days, depending on their individual health needs.
About this collection
Our NICU approach centers on developmental care, meaning we actively work to protect your baby's developing nervous system. You will notice our team uses slow, soft movements and maintains a low-light, low-noise environment to prevent overstimulation. We also actively involve you in the process, guiding you through skin-to-skin kangaroo care sessions, which are proven to help stable babies regulate their heart rate and temperature while feeling the security of your presence.
When your baby arrives earlier than expected, the NICU is the safest place for them to grow. Our units are designed to act as a continuation of the womb, prioritizing the delicate stability your baby needs to thrive.
Understanding Our NICU Levels
We provide care tailored to your baby's specific needs:
- Level 2 Care: Suitable for stable babies who need phototherapy for jaundice or help with feeding. This includes continuous monitoring of vital signs and daily consultant rounds.
- Level 3 Care: For micro-preemies or critically ill newborns requiring intensive support. This includes mechanical ventilation, high-end incubators to regulate temperature and humidity, and 1:1 nursing care.
The NICU Ambulance
If your baby needs transfer, our NICU on Wheels is an ACLS-equipped ambulance designed to minimize vibration. A neonatal fellow or registrar accompanies the transport to ensure uninterrupted life support from the moment we arrive.
What Parents Should Know
We know this experience can feel overwhelming. You are not just a visitor; you are part of the care team. Our neonatologists and nurses will keep you updated on everything from blood gas analysis to Apgar scores. We also assist with lactation support, helping you express milk or navigate feeding challenges, because your breastmilk is the best medicine for your baby.
Motherhood Hospitals
We believe you deserve care that feels real, especially during the toughest nights. Our NICU team sees every baby as a fighter, and we are here to support both the science of their recovery and your emotional journey as a parent.
