We raise orphaned kittens in real homes, not cages. Our nursery is a round-the-clock mission of bottle-feeding, warmth, and gentle socialization.

This is the life of a foster parent for orphan kittens. This little tuxedo baby is getting stronger every day thanks to round-the-clock bottle feeding and dedicated care. This is a crucial part of our work during kitten season.

Welcome to the world, little ones. These are the newest beans in the BCS nursery, so small their eyes are barely open. They require constant warmth, feeding, and care to have a chance at survival.

Our youngest bun wishes you a happy and relaxed weekend. This tiny kitten is enjoying a gentle head massage. We haven't named her yet, but we are already completely in love.

Meet Alala Pixie, our freshest neonatal kitten. After a full meal, a good burp, and some tender cuddles, she is poised to conquer the world. For now, though, it's time for a well-deserved nap.

It's raining kittens at BCS. This is a common sight in our foster homes, where tiny kittens are hand-raised with love. This little calico is being bottle-fed, a critical task for orphaned newborns.

Bella’s kittens are growing up fast and will soon be ready for adoption. Here are Shadow, Whiskers, Mittens, and Snowflake, a beautiful litter of ginger and grey kittens, getting cozy and strong in their foster home.

This is little Mittens. She was rescued after her mother was killed in a road accident. Thanks to our amazing fosters who provide constant care, she is now thriving and will be ready for adoption in a few weeks.

Sometimes, all the love in the world fits right in the palm of your hand. This tiny tabby kitten, curled up and sleeping, represents the fragile lives we fight for every single day.

Sparky was rescued from a car bonnet, completely traumatized. Thanks to the patience and love of his foster mom, he is now a happy, playful, and cuddly kitten who loves chasing bugs that the monsoon brings in.

About Kitten Nursery: Our Tiniest Fighters

It is a heavy, round-the-clock commitment. Every kitten we take in needs feeding every 2 to 3 hours, specialized milk replacers, and constant temperature monitoring. Our foster parents are the heart of this, waking up throughout the night to ensure these tiny fighters get the start they need to thrive.

Our kitten nursery functions as a distributed network across Bangalore, meaning we do not have a centralized shelter. Instead, orphan kittens are placed immediately into foster homes where they receive one-on-one care.

The Neonatal Protocol

Hand-raising an orphaned kitten is a precise science. We follow a strict 8-week protocol that includes:

  • Feeding: Premium kitten milk replacer administered via specialized bottles to prevent aspiration.
  • Hygiene: Stimulated elimination support, as kittens cannot go on their own at this stage.
  • Thermal Regulation: Using heating pads to mimic the warmth of a mother cat.
  • Health Milestones: Daily weight logging, multi-dose deworming, and ensuring they reach their vaccination schedule milestones.

Why Foster Care Matters

Because our kittens are raised in living rooms, not kennels, they are accustomed to household noises, regular handling, and family life. This makes the transition to their forever homes significantly smoother. We manage cases ranging from abandoned kittens to fragile neonatal rescues that require intensive medical intervention.

If you see a kitten in distress in Bangalore, the first few hours are the most critical. Our volunteers are equipped to provide the immediate stabilization, diagnostic triage, and recovery nutrition these little ones need to make it through the night. Whether it is a kitten rescued from a car bonnet or a litter found without a mother, our squad is ready to step in.
