About this collection
I don't just press play. Festive sets are all about reading the room. If the energy dips, I switch to high-BPM Punjabi tracks to wake everyone up, then build into a signature Bollytech drop that gets the whole floor moving. It's about knowing exactly when to push the tempo so the dance floor stays packed from the first song to the last.
How I Handle Festive Sets
Every festival needs a different vibe. My approach changes based on the occasion:
- NYE and Christmas: These are big-room nights. I focus on high-energy mashups, Top 40 hits, and the 'Bollytech' sound I'm known for. The goal is a massive, unified dance floor.
- Dandiya and Navratri: This is a different energy. It requires a steady, infectious rhythm that works for group dancing. I make sure the transition between tracks is seamless so the flow never breaks.
The Setup
I bring my full pro console (Pioneer DDJ/XDJ series) and MacBook Pro. I don't rely on just a playlist; I use licensed Rekordbox software to mix live. This allows me to adapt on the fly to how your guests are reacting.
Before the Party
We do a 20-minute consultation call before the event. You tell me about your crowd demographics and, most importantly, your 'Do Not Play' list. I want to make sure I'm playing exactly what your specific group wants to hear, not just a generic set.
Note: My rates cover the performance and mixing. The speakers and PA system are provided by the venue.
