Palace Weddings: Capturing Heritage Grandeur
A palace wedding is more than a ceremony. I work with the dramatic architecture and natural light to turn your venue into a living part of your story.
Two portraits from Aniket and Niharika's wedding at Samode Palace. The top image shows them seated in a regal alcove, while the bottom captures a playful, romantic moment, highlighting the versatility of the venue for different moods.
A breathtaking bridal portrait of Niharika in the intricately designed corridors of the palace. I used a mix of red and blue lighting to complement her lehenga and create a dramatic, painterly effect.
A close-up, intimate shot of the couple set against a traditional Rajasthani painting, connecting their modern love story to the rich heritage of the location. The top image shows the wider context of the beautifully painted room.
The groom's grand baraat entrance on a decorated elephant, complete with fireworks. I capture these spectacular moments to ensure the full scale and excitement of your destination wedding is part of your album.
About Palace Weddings: A Royal Affair
In a palace, the challenge is often the scale and the mix of old shadow with grandeur. I do not just shoot the venue. I use the existing architectural light, the way it hits an archway or spills through a corridor, to frame your portrait. We avoid spending hours on fake setups. Instead, we work with the space you chose to create those moody, painterly frames.
When shooting in heritage properties, my priority is balance. You want the photos to feel grand, but you also want them to feel like you. My approach combines wide-angle shots that show the scale of the palace architecture with tight, candid moments that capture your reactions. I rely on my associate photographers to handle the traditional documentation while I focus on the fine-art perspective. This way, we get both the massive scope of the ceremony and the subtle, intimate glances. Because palace venues often have varying lighting conditions, from bright sunlit courtyards to dimly lit corridors, I carry specific gear to adapt on the fly. Whether it is an aerial drone shot to capture the full landscape or using a specific color-graded style to highlight the intricate fresco work on the walls, every element is considered. I treat these sessions as a story. We will walk through the corridors, use the natural alcoves for portraits, and let the history of the place become a layer in your own wedding narrative.
