About Indo-Arabic & Gulf Styles
This style is all about the contrast, which is why I use a two-cone technique for these designs. I use a slightly thicker cone for the main outlines to ensure the bold 'Gulf' elements pop, and a very fine-tipped cone for the intricate Indian-style fillers inside. It’s the difference between a design that looks sharp from a distance and one that just looks like a smudge, and it’s how I ensure your henna looks clean and defined.
The Indo-Arabic and Gulf style is my personal favourite because it is so versatile. You get the iconic hanging elements like 'jhumkas' (earring motifs) and geometric patterns that define the Gulf aesthetic, combined with the dense, artistic filling of Indian mehendi. It is perfect for engagements, sangeets, or even a party where you want to stand out.
Why this style works
- Bold & Beautiful: The thick outer lines create a frame that makes the intricate work inside look much richer.
- Customizable: We can easily adapt this style. If you want a minimalist back-hand design for a party, we can keep the patterns spaced out. If you want something heavier for an engagement, we can add more elaborate wrist-length coverage.
- Organic Henna: All the designs you see here are done with my own homemade organic henna paste. It is completely chemical-free, which means it is safe for all skin types. You will get a rich, dark stain after 48 hours, not that harsh chemical orange.
My process for your event
Whether it is just for you or for a group of guests, I make sure the experience is relaxed. For larger events in Bangalore, I bring my team of artists so that no one is left waiting for hours. We focus on being quick without rushing the details, ensuring everyone leaves with a beautiful, dark stain. If you have a specific pattern in mind—like a specific floral vine or a geometric motif you saw online—show me a picture, and we will make it happen.
