About Additional Designs & Styles
I focus on balancing the density of the pattern with the natural shape of your hand. If you choose a cutwork design, I ensure the negative space is placed to create a clean, modern look, while for floral vines, I work with the natural curves of your wrist to make the art flow.
My creative process starts with understanding what you are looking for. Some clients want traditional symmetry, while others prefer the modern, airy feel of cutwork or the bold contrast of Indo-Arabic styles.
Styles I frequently create
- Cutwork and Negative Space: This involves leaving clean gaps between patterns, which makes the henna stain pop and gives it a sophisticated, modern look.
- Intricate Mandalas: Perfect for the center of the palm, these can be kept simple or detailed with fine shading depending on your preference.
- Floral and Botanical: I love incorporating lotus, rose, or vine motifs that wrap naturally around the wrist or fingers.
- Pakistani and Geometric: These focus on dense, architectural patterns and repeating motifs, ideal if you like a rich, full-hand look.
The Process
All designs are drawn freehand. If you have a reference image, I can recreate it, or we can mix elements by taking a specific floral pattern and combining it with a geometric band. I also emphasize henna quality. My homemade organic paste ensures a deep, rich stain that lasts, which is important for multi-day events or festivals. If you are unsure what suits your hand or your event, just send me a photo. We can figure out if you need a light design or something more elaborate.
