This video captures the creation of a detailed fusion design. It shows the process of layering bold floral outlines with intricate wristband patterns and shading.
About Behind the Scenes: My Process
You might see me finish a design in a few hours, but there is prep work you do not see. I mix my own organic paste, using lavender or eucalyptus essential oils, to ensure it glides smoothly and gives that deep, rich color. When you watch these clips, you are seeing the result of years of practice, where every stroke is deliberate, from the initial floral outline to the intricate shading.
The Art of the Cone
Henna application is a balance of pressure and steady movement. Whether it is a bold Arabic floral vine or a complex Indian Mandala, the pressure I apply determines the thickness of the line. Watch closely and you will see how I layer designs—starting with the main motifs and filling in with fine jaal work. This is not just about speed; it is about building a design that flows naturally with the shape of your hand.
The Organic Difference
I am strictly against chemical-laden cones. My organic paste is freshly mixed before each appointment. This takes time, but it is the only way to get that dark, long-lasting stain. The lemon-sugar sealant I apply at the end acts as a protective layer, locking the henna in so it sets properly.
Planning Your Bridal Henna
If you are curious about my process for your own bridal day, remember that application time varies based on the design. A fusion style takes about 3.5 hours, while heavy, story-driven bridal designs can take up to 8 hours. I travel throughout Bangalore, Coorg, Kasaragod, and Belgaum to be part of your celebrations. Let’s create something that tells your story perfectly.
Shafeen
Hi, I'm Shafeen. For me, henna is pure *ishq*—it is how I tell stories through lines and swirls. When I am working, I focus entirely on making the design feel like a part of you, not just a pattern on your skin.
