Often overlooked, these cold-blooded creatures are masters of disguise and survival. From the arid Thar Desert to the lush forests of Madagascar, I have captured their intricate patterns and vibrant colors as fine art for your home.

My award-winning photo of a translucent Boophis Viridis frog in Madagascar. You can see the developing eggs inside her body, a rare and beautiful glimpse into the miracle of life.

A portrait of the Malagasy Giant Chameleon, the world's largest chameleon species, native to Madagascar. Its textured skin and turret-like eyes are perfectly adapted for a life in the trees.

A macro shot of the Malagasy Giant Chameleon's eye. The intricate, swirling pattern of scales around the eye is a universe of texture and detail.

A Saw-scaled Viper, one of India's most venomous snakes, peers through wildflowers in the Thar Desert. Despite its small size, its aggressive nature makes it incredibly dangerous.

A master of disguise. This is a macro portrait of a Leaf-tailed Gecko in Madagascar, its mossy, textured skin allowing it to blend in perfectly with tree bark.

The Boophis Viridis frog from Madagascar, a nocturnal species with the ability to change color. Its most stunning feature is the bright blue ring around its iris.

When you realize it's the weekend. A Panther Chameleon from Madagascar seems to have a wide, happy smile on its face, showcasing its vibrant colors.

The gorgeous Persian Dwarf Gecko from India's Thar Desert. Its vibrant yellow head and striped body make it a tiny jewel of the arid landscape.

Dressed to impress. A male Fan-throated Lizard displays its colorful dewlap against a stormy sky, sending a message of love to any nearby females.

My award-winning photo, "Beauty of Thar Desert," shows a snake gracefully draped over a tumbleweed at dusk. This image aims to highlight the fragile beauty of this critical desert ecosystem.

About The Secret World: Reptiles & Amphibians

Choosing a print of a reptile or amphibian is about appreciating the textures that usually go unseen, from the camouflage of a leaf-tailed gecko to the swirling scales around a chameleon’s eye. These images are captured with professional macro photography and produced on museum-grade archival cotton rag paper, ensuring the sharpness and color depth remain vibrant on your wall for decades.

My work in this series is an ode to the small, the cryptic, and the misunderstood. Whether it is a Saw-scaled Viper blending into the Thar Desert floor or the translucent skin of a Boophis Viridis frog in Madagascar, these images are meant to stop you in your tracks. Macro wildlife photography requires immense patience and silence. You have to wait for the subject to trust you, which is why I prefer staying invisible in their habitat rather than forcing a shot.

Each print is a high-resolution window into these secretive lives. I use 12-color pigment-based Giclee printing, which offers color stability for over 80 years. If you are looking for statement art, my limited edition collector prints are 24x36 inches, hand-signed, and numbered, making them ideal for a dedicated wildlife corner. For those interested in digital media, I also provide high-resolution licensing for editorial or commercial use.

Every print ships from Mumbai, rolled in acid-free tissue and protected in a crush-proof tube to ensure it reaches you in the same condition it left my studio. If you have a specific space in mind, let me know, and I can help you decide between a glossy canvas or a matte cotton rag finish to match your room’s lighting.

I am Hema, a Mumbaikar who finds as much joy in a gecko's stare as in a tiger's roar. I use my camera to bridge the gap between the wild and your living room, focusing on creatures that others often overlook. If you want art that sparks conversation, you have come to the right place.
