Authentic Gujarati Festival Meals and Special Platters
Skip the time-consuming kitchen prep during festivals. I prepare traditional Gujarati platters and elaborate weekend spreads, all cooked fresh in my home kitchen just for your order.
This is a special spread I prepare for the "Randhan Chhath & Shitala Satam" festival. It includes a variety of traditional foods that are eaten during the vrat (fasting), all prepared fresh in my home kitchen.
This collage shows a typical weekend spread from my kitchen. You can see a complete meal with sabzi and roti, fresh theplas, savory handvo cake, classic undhiyu, and bajra vadas. I make everything fresh at home so you can enjoy festival-quality food without the stress.
Here is an example of a complete meal order. It includes our special Undhiyu, soft theplas, steamed dhokla, and crispy muthiya. This is a great option when you want a full, satisfying Gujarati meal for your family.
About Special Meals & Festival Platters
Because I do not keep any food in stock, every festival platter is prepared only after you confirm your order. This means you receive every dish—from the steaming Undhiyu to the crispy Handvo—prepared that same day, without any reheating or hidden preservatives. It is food meant for a family table, not a commercial shelf.
When you order for festivals like Randhan Chhath, Shitala Satam, or Diwali, you are getting food made with the same techniques I use for my own family. I avoid mass-production methods, palm oils, or artificial colors entirely.
Why Freshness Matters for Festival Food
Most commercial caterers in Bangalore keep large stocks to manage high volumes during the festival rush. This results in food that has been reheated multiple times or stored for days. My kitchen works differently. Whether you need a full Kathiyawadi spread, seasonal Undhiyu, or specific farali items for fasting, I start the preparation only after you place your request. This is why I ask for at least one day of notice for all festival and special meal orders.
What to Expect in Our Platters
My festival platters are designed to be complete meals that you can serve directly to guests or enjoy with your family. A typical order includes:
- Seasonal Specials: Authentic Undhiyu (during winter months) or specific vrat-friendly items.
- Farsan & Starters: Freshly steamed Khaman, Khatta Dhokla, or pan-fried Muthiya.
- Traditional Breads: A variety of Theplas (methi, masala, or multigrain) and, when requested, Bajri Rotlo or Bhakhri.
- Sweets: House-made desserts like Halwa or Gulab Jamun, prepared without bulk-cooking shortcuts.
Everything is packed in food-grade, leak-proof containers to ensure the temperature and texture remain intact from my kitchen in HSR Layout to your dining table across Bangalore. If you have specific dietary requirements, such as Jain-friendly preparations, please mention this when you place your order so I can adjust the ingredients accordingly.
