Sustainable Garden Design & Water Features
I design gardens that handle Mumbai's heat and busy schedules without losing their charm. From automated irrigation that keeps plants happy to natural stone water features, here is how I help you create a slice of nature at home.
This video shows the magic of an automated irrigation system in my own Mumbai balcony. You can see both the targeted drip irrigation for my mulberry tree and the gentle rain drip system watering the hanging baskets, all running on a timer. It's this kind of set-it-and-forget-it solution that gives me so much joy and that I love creating for my clients.
This is one of my favorite creations, a miniature waterfall garden in a dish. It combines a tiny, real waterfall, carefully selected plants, and a resin sea to create a complete, living waterscape. It’s a perfect way to bring the sound and sight of moving water into even the smallest indoor or balcony space.
Here is a natural stone water fountain I installed, nestled among lush green plants. My goal is always to make these features look like they are a natural part of the landscape. The gentle sound of water creates an incredibly peaceful atmosphere in any garden.
This is a high-rise balcony garden I designed, proving that you can have a green oasis anywhere in the city. You can see how a beautiful tree, a patch of green lawn, and a rustic stone water feature come together to transform this urban space.
Here’s a look at the installation process for a terrace garden. I am preparing the soil bed next to a custom-built liner for a water feature. Proper groundwork is key to a healthy, long-lasting garden and a leak-proof water system.
I'm proud to be a certified Permaculture designer. This certification represents my commitment to creating gardens that are not only beautiful but also sustainable, efficient, and work in harmony with nature. This philosophy is at the core of everything I do.
About Featured
Most people struggle with keeping balcony plants alive in Mumbai’s heat, which is why I often start with automated irrigation. I install battery-operated drip systems that run on a timer, ensuring every plant gets consistent water at its roots while hiding the pipes and mechanics behind your pots or gravel, so the garden looks natural and lush.
Every garden I design, whether it is a small high-rise balcony or a larger terrace, is rooted in Permaculture principles. This is not just about planting flowers. It is about creating an ecosystem that requires less input and gives more back, from attracting butterflies to reusing materials like old masks as plant ties.
Designing for Mumbai Climate
When I work on a terrace or balcony makeover, I look at the practical side first. I handle everything from soil preparation and waterproofing to selecting humidity-loving plants like ferns or peace lilies that thrive in our local climate.
Calming Water Features
I specialize in integrating natural stone fountains and miniature water gardens into compact spaces. I use river stones and aquatic planting to conceal pumps, creating the soothing sound of moving water without the mechanical clutter. Whether it is a full-sized boulder fountain or a resin-art dish garden for your tabletop, my goal is to make the installation feel like it belongs in the space naturally.
Why Automation Matters
I install drip irrigation because it is the most reliable way to maintain a green corner when you are busy. By calibrating flow rates for different plants—drip for trees and mist for delicate greens—I ensure that water is never wasted. I also provide a full walkthrough on how to manage the system, so you feel confident and comfortable with your new garden from day one.
