Photography Expeditions in the Wild

A personal video from a foggy morning at the gates of Taal Chhapar. You can hear the tree pie calling as we wait to enter. This is the real experience, the anticipation before the safari begins.

A fellow traveler on one of my tours, sharing his excitement for the day ahead, even in the dense fog. My expeditions are small, friendly groups of passionate photographers.

As I often say, "subah-subah jungle gate pe khade ho jaate hain." Here I am, explaining our early start and what animals we hope to see, from blackbucks to desert foxes. This is the educational part of the journey.

Another participant on the tour talks about waiting for the fog to lift. Every day in the wild is different, and we adapt to the conditions to make the most of our time.

Here I am using binoculars at Sambhar Lake. A huge part of wildlife photography is observation. I teach my clients how to spot wildlife and anticipate behavior, which is a skill as important as using a camera.
