Hands-on Science Workshops & DIY Camps
We believe science is meant to be messy, wild, and built with your own hands. Here is a glimpse of the experiments and engineering projects we bring to our Bengaluru workshops.
This is the hero item. Watch the pure joy and amazement as we create a massive, fizzing reaction with the famous "Elephant Toothpaste" experiment. This is what hands-on science is all about, creating unforgettable "aha!" moments.
From simple parts to a moving machine. Here's a look at a solar-powered Mars rover, built from scratch by one of my students. At my camps, kids don't just learn science, they build it and take their creations home.
Look at that focus. This is where the magic happens, with kids deeply engaged in building their own projects like this electromagnetic crane. I provide personal guidance in small groups to ensure every child understands the concepts and succeeds.
Is it magic? No, it's physics! This is the moment of discovery, where kids experience the power of magnetic levitation firsthand. Their expressions of wonder are my biggest motivation.
Science makes the best party favor. I bring the lab to your celebration, creating a unique and fun-filled birthday with activities like building catapults and creating cool chemical reactions that get all the kids excited.
See the principles of hydraulics in action. This student is proudly demonstrating the working hydraulic crane he built himself. We break down complex engineering topics into fun, manageable projects.
I take science out of the classroom and into the community. Here I am demonstrating a crowd-favorite volcano experiment at a science carnival in a local mall, making learning accessible and exciting for everyone.
About this collection
When we run a workshop, we don't just hand out kits and instructions. We teach kids how to use tools like glue guns, wire strippers, and sensors properly so they actually understand the mechanics behind their project. Whether it’s a hydraulic crane or a solar rover, every child walks away with a fully functional model they built from scratch, ensuring they really understand the physics or chemistry behind the fun.
How We Do Science
Science shouldn't stay in textbooks. At Fun in Science, we focus on the 'think, make, create' approach. We take complex concepts—like magnetism, electronics, or thermodynamics—and turn them into physical objects children can interact with. Whether we are hosting a 3-hour weekend workshop or a 10-day tinkering camp, our goal is the same: to stop the passive listening and start the active building.
What to Expect
- Small Batch Sizes: We cap our groups at 10-15 children to ensure every participant gets personal attention. This is especially important when kids are handling tools or learning new circuit designs.
- Take-Home Projects: Everything built during our sessions goes home with the child. From catapults and LED circuit cards to solar-powered rovers, the goal is for kids to continue playing and learning long after the session ends.
- Real-World Application: We break down school topics like sound waves or simple machines, showing how they actually appear in daily life and movies like Bahubali.
Where We Work
We operate our primary center in Basavanagar, Bengaluru, but we also travel across the city. We regularly set up labs at community centers, clubhouses, schools, and even birthday parties to bring hands-on experiments directly to your neighborhood.
Our Programs
- Workshops: Single-concept sessions focusing on one major experiment.
- Camps: 5-day and 10-day deep dives into physics, chemistry, and robotics for kids aged 4 to 14.
- Birthday Parties: A unique alternative to standard celebrations, where every kid gets a DIY science project to build and keep.
Fun in Science
We are Fun in Science, and we believe textbooks never did the subject justice. We love showing kids how to turn theory into something they can hold, build, and test. We don't just teach formulas; we help kids figure out how the world works.
