The Approach to Newborn Photography

Newborn photography is about more than just a picture. It is about freezing the time when your baby is still curled up, delicate, and new. My approach is centered on 'safe posing'—this means your baby is always comfortable and never forced into unnatural positions. I use a collection of soft knits, bonnets, and props in my Ghatkopar studio to create a serene environment where the focus stays entirely on your child's features, not the setup.

Creating Your Session

We collaborate on the look before you arrive. If you want something ethereal, we can use celestial props like clouds and moons. If you prefer the 'pure and serene' look, I lean into light, airy fabrics and simple, organic backdrops that highlight your baby’s skin texture and tiny details like their eyelashes and fingers.

Why the First Two Weeks Matter

The ideal window for these portraits is within the first 14 days of life. This is when babies are at their sleepiest and most flexible, which allows for those peaceful, swaddled poses. That said, I am flexible and happy to work with newborns at any stage; we simply adjust the posing to match their alertness and developmental milestones.

Planning Your Visit

• Safety First: The studio is sanitized before every session. I use natural light and safe, non-toxic props.
• Parents are Included: While the session focuses on your baby, I always encourage a few shots of the little one in your arms. These are often the photos parents cherish the most as their child grows.
• Preparation: I provide all outfits, wraps, and props. You just need to bring yourself, your baby, and the essentials.
