Essential Pet Health Tips for Bangalore Pet Parents
Keeping your pet healthy in Bangalore’s monsoon starts with spotting the signs early. We are sharing what we’ve learned from our own rescues and guests to help you keep those tails wagging year-round.
It's important for all pet parents to recognize the signs of tick fever. This video covers key symptoms like tiredness and loss of appetite, and explains why preventive care, which we provide at our camps, is so vital.
Do you know where ticks love to hide? This quick guide shows the common spots to check on your pet, like near the ears, neck, and paws. Regular checks are crucial for your pet's health.
About Pet Health & Prevention Tips
Ticks love the Bangalore humidity, especially during the monsoon, and catching them early is the difference between a minor issue and a scary vet visit. When we run our community health camps in the Sarjapur belt, we see so many pets with hidden ticks behind their ears or between toes. You don’t need to wait for a camp to check these spots. A simple daily brush-down after your evening walk can help you catch bumps before they become a painful problem for your dog.
Spotting the Signs Early
Tick fever is much more common than people realize. If your dog suddenly refuses to play, seems more tired than usual, or stops eating, don't brush it off as just laziness. In the monsoon, these can be early warning signs of tick-borne illness. We always tell the pet parents at our resort: you know your pet better than anyone else. If something feels off, trust that gut feeling.
Where Ticks Hide
Ticks are sneaky. They love warm, soft spots. When you groom your pet, make a habit of checking these specific areas:
- Between the toes: Ticks get stuck in the fur here easily.
- Behind the ears: A classic hideout.
- Around the neck/collar area: The friction and warmth make it a hotspot.
- Under the armpits: Often missed during a quick pet.
Our Approach to Prevention
We started Fluffy Paws to be a safe haven, and that includes the health of pets outside our resort. We partner with veterinarians from Global Pet Hospital to bring care directly to your doorstep through our community health camps.
We bring the gear, the medicine, and the medical team to your apartment society or local community space. It is free because we believe quality vet care should be accessible, not a financial burden. We handle everything from physical vitals checks to deworming and preventive tick spot-on treatments.
Note: Our health camps are designed for high-density residential societies within the Sarjapur and Kommasandra belt, with a minimum participation of approximately 15 pets to ensure we can set up properly.
