Welcome your little one with love. Whether you want a traditional ceremony filled with Pichwai art and brass lamps or a soft, pastel-themed celebration, I design every detail to make your baby’s special day feel warm, sacred, and entirely yours.

A beautiful cradle ceremony setup inspired by traditional art. The centerpiece is a floral-decorated swing set against a Pichwai-style backdrop featuring Lord Krishna, surrounded by brass props and flower arrangements.

A wide view of a grand stage I designed for a naming ceremony. The decor features traditional carved pillars, a Pichwai art backdrop, and a floor adorned with rangoli patterns, creating a magnificent setting.

For a modern take on a naming ceremony, I created this lovely pastel-themed stage. The design features a series of white arches adorned with beautiful arrangements of pink and purple flowers, creating a fresh and celebratory look.

A unique naming ceremony where tradition meets folk art. The family is joined on stage by Yakshagana performers, adding a vibrant cultural element to the celebration, all framed by my traditional decor.

A closer view of the traditional naming ceremony stage. The decor is rich with details, including hanging floral garlands, brass Nandi statues, and a custom-painted backdrop, all creating a festive and sacred ambiance.

The happy family on stage during their baby's naming ceremony. The grand, traditional decor provides a beautiful and memorable backdrop for their first official family portrait.

A sweet moment between the parents on the naming ceremony stage. The intricate floral work and traditional props create a setting that is both grand and intimate.

A detail of the custom-painted Pichwai backdrop. The artwork, featuring lotus ponds and cows, adds a beautiful, artistic, and spiritual dimension to the naming ceremony decor.

Another detail from the naming ceremony decor, showing a framed piece of traditional Indian art set against the larger painted backdrop, surrounded by fresh flowers and banana leaves.

For this naming ceremony, I used a beautiful cutout of Srinathji (a form of Lord Krishna) as a central element, placed before a traditional wooden door and adorned with fresh flower garlands.

About Joyful Naming Ceremonies (Namkaran)

A naming ceremony is about more than just the photos. It is about creating a space where family feels comfortable and the rituals feel authentic. I focus heavily on the sensory details, like the scent of fresh jasmine and the specific placement of your brass lamps, ensuring the setup works as well for the grandmother participating in the prayers as it does for the younger guests looking for a beautiful backdrop.

When I design a Namkaran, my goal is to balance the traditional sanctity of the event with a look that feels fresh and personalized. For families who want that classic South Indian vibe, I use elements like carved wooden pillars, real banana leaves, and marigold garlands to ground the space in tradition. I love sourcing authentic Pichwai art backdrops or placing brass Nandi statues to create that sacred feel that really brings the rituals to life.

If you prefer something more modern, we can pivot completely. I have been experimenting with soft, pastel-themed stages lately. We use custom-cut arches, lush floral rings, and modern signage to create a lighter, more contemporary aesthetic. These setups work beautifully in smaller, intimate home gatherings or modern banquet halls in Bengaluru.

Regardless of the style, the logistics of a naming ceremony require care. I always pay attention to the flow of the event. We make sure the cradle placement allows for easy movement for the family during the rituals, and we adjust our lighting so the focus stays on the baby while keeping the backdrop glowing and clear for your portraits. If you have a specific family heirloom, a vintage cradle, or a special cultural tradition you want to highlight, just let me know. I love finding ways to weave those personal touches into the decor so your celebration feels like an extension of your family story.
