For this project at Migsun Vilasa, we integrated a full-height wardrobe, open shelving, and a study desk into a single, cohesive unit. We utilized 18mm commercial grade plywood to ensure structural longevity, incorporating soft-close hydraulic hinges to reduce daily wear and tear. This configuration demonstrates how bespoke carpentry solves spatial constraints without compromising on aesthetic finish or storage capacity.
Engineering for Daily Utility
Our design philosophy focuses on maximizing vertical volume in compact layouts. For this specific installation, we addressed the requirement for a multi-functional study and storage space by combining custom woodwork with durable hardware.
Material Specifications
- Structural Integrity: Every unit is built on an 18mm MR Grade Plywood or HDHMR carcass. This prevents warping and ensures the furniture handles the weight of books, clothing, or media equipment over time.
- Hardware: We standardize soft-close hydraulic hinges and telescopic channels. This choice is deliberate to prevent slamming and extend the operational life of doors and drawers.
- Finish: Exterior surfaces are treated with 1mm laminate, providing high resistance to scratches and moisture. Internal surfaces use white balancer laminate to maintain hygiene and ease of cleaning.
