Real Family Moments: My Transition From Photographer to Mom
Life changed when Gaia arrived. I stopped just shooting products and started chasing the tiny, messy, beautiful moments that actually matter. This is the story of how my lens shifted from the studio to your home.
This past year with my daughter, Gaia, has reshaped everything. Motherhood taught me to slow down and find beauty in the small, everyday details. It’s this new, softer lens that I bring to every family and newborn session I photograph.
Here's a little bit about me. For years, I was a food and product photographer and ran a social media agency. While I still love that work, becoming a mom ignited a new passion for telling family stories with the same clarity and heart I bring to brands.
This is a glimpse into my daily life, juggling work, shoots, and mom duties. My experience as a professional photographer and a new mother gives me a unique understanding of what families need from a photoshoot: patience, flexibility, and an eye for the moments that matter.
About My Story: From Photographer to Mom
When I transitioned from professional product photography to family shoots, I did not change my gear, I changed my patience. Unlike a controlled studio setting where a product stays perfectly still, a newborn session with me is built entirely around your baby’s rhythm. Feeding breaks, nappy changes, and those quiet, unplanned cuddles are not interruptions; they are the specific, messy moments I am actually looking to capture.
From Products to People
For years, my life was defined by food textures and brand storytelling. I obsessed over light, angles, and the perfect drip on a dessert. Then Gaia arrived, and the way I looked through my viewfinder changed overnight. I realized that while brands need polished, high-impact visuals, families need something else: truth. They need the raw, unfiltered evidence of their daily life.
The 'Real' Approach
I bring the same technical discipline I used for commercial brands to your family portraits. I know how to manage lighting in a home environment and how to compose a shot, but I leave the stiff posing at the door. My approach to newborn and family lifestyle photography in Mumbai is simple: if the baby cries, we stop. If you need a break, we take one. The best photos don't happen when you are posing for the camera; they happen when you are interacting with your child.
What to Expect
- Newborn Lifestyle: I come to your home, where you and your baby are most comfortable. No heavy equipment, just natural light and soft, neutral props.
- Milestone Sessions: Whether it is the first smile or the first steps, we capture these growth spurts with minimal, clean setups that highlight your child’s budding personality.
- Family Dynamics: I focus on the connection between parents and children. We create images that feel like a snapshot of your actual life, not a staged magazine spread.
If you want photos that look less like a formal portrait studio and more like your real, wonderful life, let's talk.
