About Not-So-Traditional: Indian Fusion
A saree is just six yards of fabric waiting for a refresh. Whether it is draping with a bralette, adding a belt, or mixing vintage pieces with high-street finds, I don’t believe in rigid rules. I show you how to layer, tuck, and accessorize so your ethnic wear stops collecting dust and becomes your favorite weekend look.
Traditional wear shouldn’t feel like a costume. My styling philosophy for Indian fusion is simple: if it makes you feel like the main character, keep it. I’m a NIFT grad who grew up watching women struggle with uncomfortable, rigid ethnic styles, and I’m here to change that narrative.
Why go Fusion?
Fusion styling is about versatility. It’s taking that heavy silk kurta and pairing it with jeans for brunch, or draping a Kota dupatta over a western co-ord set to add texture. It’s about dopamine dressing—wearing what makes you smile, not what the occasion expects.
My Approach to Your Closet
- The Wardrobe Purge: We start by digging into your current collection. You’d be surprised what can happen when we pair your mom’s vintage saree with a modern metallic bralette or use a silver brooch to drape a pallu like a scarf.
- Draping Hacks: Forget the standard pleats. I teach modern, relaxed drapes that are comfortable, flattering for pear-shaped bodies, and move with you.
- Accessorizing: A jhumka isn’t just for weddings. I’ll show you how to stack chunky bangles or wear statement earrings with animal print trousers to create that cool, desi-boho hybrid look.
The No-Rule Rule
Fashion is a playground. Whether you are prepping for a Diwali party, a friend's sangeet, or just want to feel chic on a random Tuesday, we’ll mix high-street finds with homegrown labels. It’s not about following trends; it’s about breaking them until your style feels 100% yours. Let's make your wardrobe work as hard as you do.
