Your kitchen is more than a place to cook; it’s a living color palette. Let's turn everyday ingredients into vibrant, non-toxic art.

Have you ever painted with inks made from cooking ingredients? It's a beautiful and mindful process. You can learn how to make your own inks in my self-paced course.

You can make your own herbal Holi Gulaal at home. It's completely natural and safe for your skin, made from ingredients like beetroot and flowers. This is how Holi is meant to be played.

Let's make a natural lip and cheek tint using beetroot. It's a simple, 5-minute DIY recipe that gives you a beautiful, long-lasting color without any chemicals. Go ahead and make it.

This is my homemade Kajal. Following ancient rituals, you can create your own personal care products that are pure, natural, and connected to our traditions.

A Sunday morning trip to the farmer's market is a color-hunting expedition for me. I see a palette of natural paints in the vibrant reds of tomatoes, the greens of cucumbers, and the yellows of lemons.

These brass bowls filled with spices and dried flowers are not just for cooking. For me, they are pots of potential color, waiting to be turned into paint or dye. This is the heart of a plant-based life.

About From Kitchen to Canvas: Natural Inks & Paints

When you make your own beetroot tint, remember: never add water to the raw extract. If you want it to last, mix the concentrated juice with aloe vera gel and keep it in the fridge. This creates a stable, long-lasting tint that stays on your skin for hours, and most importantly, you know exactly what went into it.

Nature provides everything we need to create, from the deep red of beetroot to the golden warmth of turmeric. In this workshop, I walk you through the process of extracting these pigments properly so you can create your own inks, paints, and cosmetics without a single chemical.

Why work with natural pigments?

It is not just about making art; it is about knowing your materials. Commercial paints often come with hidden binders and preservatives. When you make your own, you control the ingredients. You learn how to use beetroot, spinach, and spices to create watercolours that are safe for your home, your kids, and even your pets.

What you will learn:

  • Pigment Extraction: How to boil and reduce kitchen waste to get potent, usable colors.
  • Safety & Preservation: Simple hacks like using aloe vera or natural stabilizers to keep your homemade tints fresh for weeks.
  • Application: Basic watercolor techniques using the inks you have just created. We also cover how to formulate herbal Holi Gulaal that is gentle on the skin.

Is this for you?

Whether you are a parent looking for safe activities, an artist wanting to explore sustainable supplies, or someone who just wants to slow down and create, these sessions are for you. You do not need expensive gear to start. All you need is curiosity and a bit of kitchen scrap. Chaliye, let’s make art that feels good and does good.
