If you are joining us for a trail ride, it helps to know we operate on a strictly guided basis. Whether you are a total beginner or a regular rider, our horses are kept to a steady walking pace to ensure safety in the rocky, sandy terrain of the Aravallis. We provide the helmet and the horse, so you just need to arrive ready to disconnect from the city noise and enjoy the forest.
Your Escape from the City
We started Duke Horse Riding Club because we believe that the best way to handle the madness of the city is to leave it behind for an hour. Our trails wind through the Keekar scrub forest, offering a perspective of the Aravallis you cannot get from a car window. You might spot a peacock, hear the birds, or simply enjoy the rare silence of the forest.
What to Expect on Your Ride
- Beginner Friendly: Most of our guests have never sat on a horse before. Our lead instructors are always on foot or mounted nearby to guide you through every sandy path or rocky incline.
- Safety First: We enforce a strict rider weight limit of 90kg and require helmets on all rides. Our horses are retired or school horses that are calm, reliable, and know these paths better than we do.
- The Terrain: The Aravallis are rugged. You will ride through sandy ravines and brush. If you visit during the monsoon, you might get a chance to ride through seasonal stream crossings—a local favorite we call our 'Saddle & Splash' experience.
- Timing Matters: We recommend booking for the golden hours. Sunrise and sunset rides are not just for the photos; the weather is cooler, the animals are more active, and the light over the hills is something else entirely.
