About Young Riders' First Steps
When your child comes for their first ride, we don't just put them on a horse. We start with a safety briefing, introducing them to horse psychology so they understand their new friend before we even mount up. We assign specific ‘Schoolmaster’ horses for these beginner sessions—calm, seasoned animals who know exactly how to handle a novice rider, so you can watch from the gallery with complete peace of mind.
Building confidence in young riders starts with the right environment. We have moved away from rigid, high-pressure training to create a space that feels more like a weekend hangout than a classroom. Whether it is a 30-minute trial session or joining our monthly group course, we focus on the basics: balance, posture, and that essential, unspoken bond between human and horse.
Safety is non-negotiable here. We provide standard helmets and vests for every session, ensuring your child is protected while they learn. Our arena, located near Golf Course Extension, is equipped with floodlights, meaning we can schedule rides throughout the day to fit your busy week.
Our instructors use a ‘Schoolmaster’ approach for beginners, pairing riders with horses that have a gentle temperament, specifically trained to look after novice riders. This keeps the experience stress-free for the child and allows them to progress at their own pace—from simple walking to gaining independent control. If you are curious about how your child will take to it, we recommend starting with a trial session to gauge their comfort level before committing to a longer course.
Duke Horse Riding Club
We are a group of horse-lovers here in Gurugram who believe the best lessons happen outside. We created this club because we wanted a space where our own families could grow up around horses. No high-pressure training here, just genuine connections and little daredevils in the making.
