Creative Aerial Techniques for Events
I don't just fly a drone. I capture angles that change how you see your venue. From 360-degree tiny planets to sweeping orbital pans, here is my take on creative aerial photography.
This is a special 'tiny planet' shot, a 360-degree panorama stitched into a sphere. It's a unique and artistic way to present an entire location, like this event near Akshardham Temple, in a single, mind-bending image.
About Creative Aerial Techniques
A 'tiny planet' shot is actually a 360-degree panorama stitched into a sphere. It captures the entire layout of your event venue or a landmark in one single frame, showing details from the horizon to the ground. It requires very precise flight paths and steady hands, which is why I use the DJI Air 2S to handle the complex image stitching for these shots.
When you see a standard photo, you are looking at a slice of the action. With creative aerial techniques, I try to capture the whole environment at once.
The Tech Behind the View
I rely on my DJI fleet, specifically the Air 2S and Air 3, to pull off these perspectives. These drones are compact but carry high-res sensors capable of capturing the necessary overlapping frames for a clean, seamless stitch.
My Signature Techniques
- Tiny Planet (360 Sphere): This involves stitching a 360-degree panorama into a globe. It works best in open grounds or around distinct landmarks where you have a clear horizon. It turns a crowded wedding venue or a busy street into a self-contained little world.
- Orbital Pans: Instead of a static shot, I orbit the couple or the venue, creating a cinematic wrap-around effect. It adds depth and scale, perfect for showing off venue architecture or a grand Jaimala ceremony.
- Top-Down (God’s Eye View): This is all about geometry. I fly directly over the subject to align everything perfectly. It is ideal for candid, laid-back poses where the patterns of the decor or the seating layout create a visual rhythm.
Planning Your Shoot
Whether it is a destination wedding in Udaipur or a concert in Delhi, the best creative shots happen when we have a little flight time to spare. I do not just capture the wedding; I capture the space it lives in. If you want something beyond standard footage, let us talk about how we can map your venue from the sky.
