Awards are nice, but they aren't why I pick up my camera. For me, this recognition from WeddingSutra for my couple portraits is actually about trust. It means the couples I work with—like the ones you see in these frames—felt comfortable enough to be their real selves. When you aren't focused on posing, that is when the magic happens, and that is exactly what the jury saw.
Photography is often about what you can see, but the moments that win awards are usually about what you can feel. When I shoot a couple, I am looking for the space between the big gestures.
