Thinking about a hair transplant? Here is the honest truth about the journey, from the procedure duration to aftercare, based on my 25 years of experience.

Dard bilkul nahi hona chahiye (you shouldn’t feel pain). I am obsessed with making the procedure painless. My patients don't experience severe pain or side effects. You can ask any of them.

What about swelling after a hair transplant? In my 25+ years of experience, my patients rarely get the black eyes or severe swelling you hear about. That happens with amateur techniques. A little swelling can be managed with ice packs.

How many days does a transplant take? For a large session of 10,000 grafts, it can take up to four days. We don't rush the process. Quality takes time, and you can rest at home or a hotel between sessions.

What precautions to take after a transplant? For seven days, don't rub the area. You can wash your hair gently with a mug and bucket. After eight days, you can rub properly and do any exercise you want, even sheershasan (headstand).

How much rest is needed after a hair transplant? Celebrities don't take time off. But to be safe, plan for one week of no heavy exertion. You don't need bed rest, just avoid activities that could dislodge the grafts.

This video shows how to properly clean the scalp after a hair transplant. I am demonstrating how to rub the area to remove any remaining scabs, which is important for healing.

What should you do for four months after your transplant? Maintain a healthy lifestyle. Avoid junk food, alcohol, and smoking. Eat well and stay away from pollution. After 10 days, you can resume heavy exercise.

How much rest after a hair transplant? Most of my celebrity patients don't take any leave. For most people, I suggest a week of avoiding heavy exercise to keep the grafts safe. You can walk around and even take a bath.

Another look at the rest period after a hair transplant. A week of light activity is all that's needed. After seven days, the skin has healed and the roots are secure in their new location.

Here are the precautions after a hair transplant. Wear a shirt, not a t-shirt. For seven days, wash gently and avoid heavy exercise. From day eight, you can go back to your normal routine.

About Your Hair Transplant Journey Explained

Unlike quick-fix clinics, I don't believe in bhaga-daudi (rushing). For large sessions, such as 10,000 grafts, we take 3-4 days, allowing you to rest between sessions so the scalp heals properly. My focus is on high-density, painless results without the risks of outdated techniques or unnecessary drugs.

What to Expect Before and After

When you commit to a hair transplant, you are choosing a permanent solution. My approach is simple: stitchless FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) for natural-looking results.

The First 7 Days: Your Recovery Phase For the first week, your scalp needs to settle. You won't be bedridden, but you need to be careful.

  • Washing: No rubbing for the first 7 days. Use a bucket and mug to wash your hair gently. Avoid direct shower pressure.
  • Clothing: Come to the clinic wearing a shirt or jacket. Avoid T-shirts and pullovers, as they are difficult to remove without pulling on your scalp after the procedure.
  • Physical Activity: No heavy exercise or bending down to lift weights for one week. This ensures the grafts settle exactly where I place them.
  • After Day 8: You can go back to normal. Wash normally, rub the area to remove scabs, and hit the gym. Whether you want to do a headstand or heavy lifting, you are good to go.

Why I Say No to Unnecessary Meds Many clinics will push Finasteride or PRP as part of the package. I don't. If the transplant is done right, using permanent donor hair from the back of your head or beard, you don't need drugs with side effects. My results come from precise, artistic slit creation and manual graft placement, not from chemical dependency.

Managing Pain and Swelling Pain is a result of a doctor's lack of expertise, not the surgery itself. In my 25+ years, my patients do not get black eyes or severe swelling because I do not over-inject fluids into the forehead. With my technique, you get a clean, comfortable, and permanent transformation.
