Storybook & Themed Sensory Workshops for Kids
We bring stories to life through messy art, live music, and sensory play, turning your child's favorite books and seasons into immersive, hands-on adventures.
We're not scared. We brought the book 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' to life with art. Children created their own landscapes, from a swirling snowstorm to thick, oozy mud, using different art materials for each part of the adventure.
A look at our spooktacular Halloween event. We had everything from themed sensory bowls and pumpkin glass painting to a fun puppet show. My goal is always to make holiday events cute and fun, never too scary for the little ones.
Celebrating the Chinese New Year with a special sensory play setup. The children explored a bin filled with red and gold rice, coins, and dragon puppets. It's a playful way to learn about different cultural celebrations.
The magic of our Christmas events. We created festive sensory bins with red and green pasta and pinecones, sang carols, and even made our own sparkling sensory bottles. It was a wonderful way to get into the holiday spirit.
A simple yet effective Christmas activity. This DIY posting box, shaped like a Christmas tree, is perfect for developing fine motor skills. The children loved pushing the little decorations and cotton ball "snow" through the slots.
A glimpse from our 'Love Week' celebrating Valentine's Day. We explored bins of pink rice and soft cotton balls, played under the parachute, and shared lots of happy moments. Every theme is an opportunity for new sensory discoveries.
About Storybook & Themed Fun
Instead of just reading a story, we step into it. For themes like 'We’re Going on a Bear Hunt' or festive holidays, I create multi-sensory worlds where your child feels the crunch of the 'snow' or the squelch of the 'mud' using taste-safe materials. This hands-on approach helps little ones connect deeply with the narrative while building fine motor skills, all set to the rhythm of my live ukulele sessions.
How We Play
My themed workshops are designed to be wild, messy, and deeply meaningful. Whether we are exploring the colors of a festival or acting out a classic storybook scene, the goal remains the same: sparking curiosity. We use professional-grade sensory tools, but we also rely on simple, tactile materials—spaghetti, cooked rice, and handmade edible paints—so you never have to worry about what goes into your child's mouth.
Why Stories and Themes?
Children learn best when they are fully engaged. By attaching a story or a seasonal theme to our art activities, I help children understand complex concepts in a way that feels like play. When we paint pumpkins for Halloween or make red-and-gold rice for the Chinese New Year, we are doing more than making a craft. We are exploring culture, emotions, and sensory textures simultaneously.
For the Parents
I know the reality of parenting—the sleepless nights, the constant juggling, and the need for a moment of peace. My workshops are a place for you to belong, too. While your little ones are busy discovering new textures and music, I encourage you to grab a coffee, chat with other parents, and just take a deep breath. You are part of our tribe, and you deserve a space to connect just as much as your child does.
