We believe lighting should never just be functional. Whether it is a statement waterfall chandelier at your entrance or hundreds of votives flickering across a dinner table, our goal is to design an atmosphere that shifts with the mood of your event. If you are planning an outdoor celebration, we specialize in landscape illumination that makes trees, pathways, and water features feel like a core part of the decor itself.
Lighting design is where the technical meets the emotional. At Do It Up, we move beyond simple illumination to create environments that tell a story through shadow, glow, and warmth.
Our Approach to Ambiance
We break down lighting into three distinct layers to ensure depth:
- The Statement Pieces: These are the visual anchors, such as oversized waterfall chandeliers, sculptural LED installations, or modern cloud chandeliers. These pieces provide drama and serve as a focal point, especially in large ballrooms or foyer areas.
- The Soft Layers: This is where we bring in intimacy. We use clusters of taper candles in glass sleeves, floating tea light votives, and fairy light curtains to soften the hard edges of a venue. This creates a glow that feels inviting rather than clinical.
- The Landscape & Architectural Wash: For outdoor events, particularly when we are working at venues in places like Jodhpur or along the Ganges, we use directional par cans and subtle uplighting to highlight the natural beauty of the surroundings. This turns the entire property into a backdrop.
Why Lighting Defines Your Event
Many clients focus heavily on furniture and florals, but lighting is what dictates the guest experience. A stark, brightly lit room kills the energy of a Sangeet, while a dimly lit, candle-heavy setup can make a Roka ceremony feel sacred and serene. When we consult on your event, we analyze the venue's existing architecture to decide whether to enhance its natural light or create a completely new mood using our installations. We focus on temperature—using warm, golden hues to keep spaces feeling cozy and welcoming, ensuring that the light always complements your photography and your guests' comfort.
