Real Moments and Behind-the-Scenes at KIGA
This isn't a highlight reel of perfect behavior. This is raw, unscripted footage from my daily grind at KIGA. See how I handle the real deal, from pack dynamics to the quirks of my own dogs.
Teaching my son, Doobie the Beagle, how to skateboard. Or maybe he's teaching me.
Why does a male dog hump another male dog? I explain the complex social reasons behind this behavior, which is often about dominance and social awkwardness, not sexuality.
A look at sporting dogs like Retrievers and Spaniels. These dogs are workaholics and get behavioral issues if they don't get enough physical and mental exercise. A simple potty break walk is not enough.
There are two types of dog walks: mental and physical. I explain the difference and why your dog needs a mix of both to be truly tired and happy. A dog walker can't replace you.
Walking your dog is a huge responsibility. You are their protector. I explain why you need to be alert and ready to defend them from off-leash dogs or other dangers. This is how you build trust.
Why do dogs dig? It can be for many reasons: boredom, hunting for a strange smell, making a comfortable bed, or even anxiety. I break down the different motivations behind this natural behavior.
Why do dogs love belly rubs so much? I explain the science and psychology behind it. Exposing their belly is a sign of ultimate trust and comfort, and rubbing it stimulates nerves that help them relax.
How to handle your dog's fear of Diwali crackers. Forget the harsh training methods. I give you practical, compassionate advice: make it a game with treats or just give them comfort. They will learn to cope over time.
Is your dog bored? A bored dog is often a destructive dog. This is your sign to provide more mental stimulation and exercise.
Is your dog highly sensitive? If they are a picky eater, pee when excited, and get sad when you scold them, you have a sensitive dog. I explain their unique needs and how they train the whole family.
About Miscellaneous Shots & Fun Moments
You will see plenty of unedited, chaotic moments here, but that is the point. At KIGA, we do not believe in sterile, cage-heavy environments. Watching a group of dogs navigate a normal, unstructured interaction, even a little play-fight, teaches them more about pack boundaries than any obedience command. If you want your dog to actually be a dog, this is the environment they need.
Most trainers on the internet will show you the ten seconds where the dog listens perfectly. I show you the rest of the day. Working with dogs in Gurugram means dealing with the reality of high-energy breeds living in apartments, separation anxiety, and the lack of proper socialization spaces.
In these clips, I am not trying to impress you. I am showing you what actually happens when you let dogs be dogs. Whether it is a Beagle being stubborn about a walk or a group of dogs learning to coexist in a cage-free setup, these moments are how we fix behavioral issues without just suppressing them.
My facility, KIGA, is built around this philosophy. We do not use cages because a dog in a cage cannot learn how to act in a pack. We use cameras and supervision because that is how you actually keep them safe. If you have been told your dog is 'aggressive' or 'hopeless,' take a look at these clips. Often, it is just a matter of the dog having no proper outlet for their energy or no peers to learn boundaries from. If you are tired of the daily tug-of-war or the constant noise, come by. Let us see if your dog fits into the pack.
Kiga
I am Prateek. Seventeen years in this game and I have realized one thing: dogs are smarter than we give them credit for. I run KIGA to let them drop the act and just be dogs.
