Official K9 Unit Training & Government Deployments
My K9 training methods are field-tested and trusted by police, customs, and forest departments. From tracker squads in Bandipur to narcotics detection at airports, I deliver operational excellence, not just obedience.
This clip from a BBC World documentary shows me working with the Karnataka Forest Department. We were establishing a tracker K9 unit to help combat poaching by tracking scents left behind in the jungle.
Here, I am explaining our anti-poaching K9 program to Sri Eshwar Khandre, the Forest Ecology and Environment Minister, during his visit to our Bandipur training center. We discussed how these dogs can track scents even days later.
A group photograph with CCF Dr. Ramesh, Chief Conservator Smt. Malathi, and other officials at the inauguration of the tracker dog unit at Bandipur. This partnership is crucial for protecting our state's wildlife.
A video capturing the moment I was felicitated at the State CID Dog Training Centre in Pune. It was an honor to be recognized by DYSP Yadhav Tumreti for my contributions to the Maharashtra State CID Dog Training Centre.
A proud moment for our team as forest department staff hold the new Belgian Malinois puppies at the Bandipur training center. This facility is the country's first dedicated wildlife sniffer and offence tracking dog training center.
Our K9 unit working with the Chennai Customs department at the airport. These dogs are trained to detect narcotics and other contraband, playing a vital role in national security.

About this collection
I don't just train dogs; I engineer functional units capable of handling high-pressure security environments. When the Karnataka Forest Department needed anti-poaching tracker squads in Bandipur, they didn't ask for basic tricks. They required dogs with the biological drive and psychological stability to track scents through dense jungle terrain, often days after a crime occurred.
Government and high-stakes security work requires more than just a dog that listens. It demands a partnership between a handler and a K9 that understands its environment. My process begins by selecting the right breed for the specific job, whether it is a Belgian Malinois for active tracking or a Labrador for non-invasive narcotics detection.
My work with the Maharashtra CID and Chennai Customs is built on the foundation of 'Shwana Manovaitajnya' or canine psychology. I do not suppress natural instincts. Instead, I channel them. For police and military clients, this means creating a dog that can navigate a chaotic airport arrival hall or a hostile forest perimeter without becoming overwhelmed or distracted.
I have established training centers like the one in Bandipur, which serves as a blueprint for wildlife protection K9 units across India. My role is to train the handlers as much as the dogs. If a handler cannot read the subtle 'alert' cues of their partner, the entire unit fails. We focus on real-world scenarios: explosive detection, perimeter patrolling, and crowd management. These are not static drills; they are live exercises designed to ensure that when the unit is deployed, they are effective, reliable, and ready to act.
