Barbering Education & Live Industry Demos by Dodo
Education is about communication, not just technique. Whether I'm on a big stage at Professional Beauty India or running a workshop, my goal is simple: break down the craft, skip the fluff, and share what actually works on the salon floor.
Here I am on stage for Professional Beauty India, demonstrating a modern haircut as part of the Ikonic "Twilight" Collection. Live demos are a great way to share techniques with a wide audience.
On the HJ Stage at PBI Kolkata, performing a live demo on funky summer cuts and colors. It's always a great experience to collaborate with other talented artists and share ideas.
Explaining the process during a live hair demo in Kolkata. Education is about communication, whether it's in a small class or on a big stage.
A shot of me and my fellow stylists working on our models during the "Funky Summer Cut and Color" live demo. The energy at these events is always incredible.
Focusing on the details during a live haircut on stage. Even with a large crowd watching, precision and technique are the most important things.
A quick look at the life of a traveling educator. It's a cycle of flying to a new city, prepping for the show, performing on stage, and connecting with the local barber community.
An interview at the Aakar Expo in Chennai. I talk about representing brands like Jaguar and Maxell, and how much I enjoy the energy and questions from the crowd at these events.
About On Stage: Expo Demos & Industry Events
When you see me on stage, you won't see me doing 'perfect' social media cuts that fall apart the moment the client leaves. I focus on structural barbering, face analysis, clipper guard leverage, and how to handle real hair textures. Whether it's a skin fade or a modern mullet, I’m showing you the exact process so you can replicate it in your own shop the very next day.
Most expo demos look cool but offer zero value for your daily grind. At events like Professional Beauty India (PBI) and Aakar Expo, I refuse to play that game. My live sessions are essentially a breakdown of the Zido Salon floor—raw, unfiltered, and technical.
Why My Demos Are Different
I don't just stand there with a mannequin. I bring real heads, real hair problems, and real questions from the crowd. We dive deep into:
- Head Shape Analysis: Most barbers copy a look they saw on Instagram without checking if it fits the client's skull. I teach you how to read the bone structure first.
- Clipper Logic: It isn't just about moving the machine fast. I cover zero-gapping, blade maintenance, and why specific guards work better for different density levels.
- Product Reality: I break down the wax vs. clay vs. pomade confusion. If you don't know why you're using a product, you aren't styling—you're just guessing.
Learning Beyond the Stage
If you catch me at an expo, come up and ask questions. I love the chaos of live crowds. But if you want to take it further, my workshops are where the real change happens. I cap my masterclasses at 5 people because I need to watch your hand movement. If your sectioning is off, I'll tell you immediately. No sugarcoating, just honest feedback to make you a better barber. Whether you're here to learn about fading, texturizing, or beard sculpting, bring your tools and be ready to work hard.
