About DREAM EP: My Original Sound
Making this EP wasn't about sticking to a single formula. I spent months in the studio layering original basslines and drum sequences, specifically focusing on that transition where melodic techno meets the high-energy club drops I use in my live sets.
Transitioning from remixing to full-scale music production was the natural next step for my journey. While I love reworking Bollywood and Punjabi hits, the DREAM EP is my way of stripping back the sound to see what I could build from scratch.
I focused heavily on atmospheric textures and aggressive percussion. You will hear influences from tech house grooves and the raw urgency of drum and bass, but I kept the melodic sensibilities that make a track memorable. Tracks like Uchiya Rakhiya were designed to be versatile. They work on a festival main stage, but they also have enough depth to stand alone as a listening experience.
Technically, this project involved moving away from simple mashup structures. I focused on:
- Composition: Writing custom basslines and synth melodies rather than sampling existing stems.
- Sound Design: Layering different atmospheric elements to create a cohesive sonic identity.
- Mastering: Balancing the dynamic range for club systems to ensure the low-end hits hard without losing clarity in the mids.
If you have been following my House of Stellar series, this EP is a shift toward a more focused electronic sound. It is where I put my roots and my future in a blender.
