When I step up to the Pioneer CDJ 3000 setup, I’m not just playing tracks; I’m mixing live on the fly. Whether it’s a Bolly-tech drop or a heavy techno transition, I adjust the EQ and FX filters to suit exactly what the crowd is feeding me in that moment. You’re getting a performance that shifts with the room, not a pre-recorded playlist.
My Sound, My Way
My sets are defined by the collision of two worlds: high-octane Techno and the rhythmic pulse of Desi music. I build these 'Ray Reworks' on the spot—taking a vocal hook everyone knows and layering it over a dark, driving bassline. If you've ever wondered how a Hindi classic feels at 128 BPM, this is that sound.
The Performance Flow
I treat every gig as a narrative. For a festival set, I’ll start with a deep, progressive build-up, letting the soundscape stretch out before hitting the high-energy peak section. My goal is to manage the energy so you never hit a lull, but I also know when to create space for a moment of connection.
Technical Reality Check
I bring my own VJ loop packs to sync with the venue's LED walls because the visual vibe is half the experience. Since I focus on continuous, multi-deck mixing—often juggling 3 to 4 decks—I require a 30-minute sound check before doors open. It’s non-negotiable for me because I need to ensure the gain management is perfect for the room. I don't believe in sound fatigue; I believe in pacing the night so that by the time the final track hits, the crowd is ready for more.
