A look inside my workspace. It takes more than just a playlist to fill a dance floor; it is about the right gear, technical precision, and reading the room in real time.

Focused on the mix during my Thursday night set at BOHO. I use industry-standard Pioneer DJ gear to ensure a high-quality, seamless musical journey for the audience.

A shot of me at the console at BOHO. I'm always watching the crowd to gauge their energy and select the next track to keep the party going.

In the zone at Badmaash, with their iconic tiger mural behind me. This is my command center, where I blend Bollywood hits and commercial bangers.

A close-up shot of me mixing at Sarjapur Social. The technical side of DJing is just as important as the performance, ensuring every transition is smooth.

Getting ready for another packed night at Badmaash. I always arrive prepared to deliver a high-energy set that the crowd expects.

A thumbs up from the DJ booth at Badmaash. A successful night means a happy crowd and good vibes all around.

Another great Thursday night at BOHO. My long-standing residency here is built on professionalism and a consistent ability to pack the dance floor.

About At the Controls

When you are behind the console, it is not just about hitting play. I arrive 45 minutes early with my Pioneer gear to run a full sound check, ensuring the bass hits right and the transitions between your favourite Bollywood and Punjabi tracks are smooth. I am constantly reading the room to see who is dancing and when to drop that next high-energy remix, rather than just sticking to a rigid, pre-planned setlist.

My approach to DJing is rooted in the technical craft. Whether I am playing at a private terrace party or a club residency at places like Social or Badmaash, the goal remains the same: keep the energy consistent.

I rely on professional Pioneer DJ hardware, specifically the DDJ and XDJ series, because they allow for precise looping, effects, and beat-matching. This gear is industry-standard for a reason; it ensures that your music does not cut out and the transitions remain seamless, even when moving between different genres like Hip-Hop, Commercial Pop, and high-BPM Punjabi tracks.

Beyond the gear, a major part of 'being at the controls' is crowd psychology. I spend as much time watching the audience as I do watching my laptop screen. If I see the crowd thinning, I adjust the tempo or switch to a familiar Bollywood classic to bring the energy back up. I offer a range of setups, from simple audio-only performances for intimate gatherings to full-scale AV experiences where I sync music videos and visuals to the beat on venue LED screens.

For weddings and sangeets, I focus heavily on sequence planning. We coordinate entry songs, cake cutting, and special performances well in advance so that you do not have to worry about the timing on your big day. My setup is flexible, but I always ensure we have a professional sound check before doors open to guarantee the audio quality matches the vibe you want for your event.

I am Jeevan. My days are usually spent in the corporate world, but my nights are for the decks. I do not just play music; I run the floor by mixing live, keeping the energy high, and making sure nobody wants to leave until the last song.
